Water

The first and foremost thing to do after you are home is to rehydrate yourself. When you exercise, you sweat a lot and in turn you lose electrolytes and water from the body. You might lose up to 2-4 litres of water depending on the hours you work out. Drinking water in moderation, should be your first priority while exercising, before it and also when you’re done.

Eggs

Generally, loads of fitness freaks go for hard-boiled eggs just after a workout session. Eggs are said to be one of the highest sources of protein, containing all the 9 essential amino acids. You can eat it the way you like: flip an omelette, scrambled some, make a sunny-side up or just boil em’ up, eggs are healthy in each and every form.  

Smoothies

Smoothies work great post-workout as these drinks can recharge you within minutes. You can choose your own favourite mix of ingredients and whip up a nutrient-packed smoothie at home. Don’t go for the packaged and store-bought ones, make your own fresh one and keep yourself energized and hydrated. Add a handful of berries of your choice and mint to level-up the taste and awesomeness!

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes/shakarkand is said to be a very popular fasting ingredient in Indian homes. But do you know why? This is because it amps up the energy levels in the body keeping the tummy full for a longer time, making it a great post-workout food choice. It also has a high dose of fibre, Vitamin A and good carbohydrates which help in boosting your immunity. You can roast it, make a soup or blend it in your smoothie, it works great in all ways.

Quinoa

The popular superfood quinoa is one of the healthiest grains available. It’s completely gluten free which makes it a great choice for vegetarians.  It’s packed with proteins and fibre, healthy carbohydrates, magnesium and iron.
