Shopping list

100 grams tamarind
100 grams jaggery
1 kg basmati rice
200 grams small brinjals
100 grams tendli
200 grams dried coconut
100 grams cashewnuts
1 coconut
400 grams mawa
1 small bottle liquid glucose

For faster preparation
Soak and pressure cook the toovar dal. Grate the jaggery. Cut the vegetables for the bhaat.  Soak the rice. Prepare the masala paste.

How to go about it
Make the mixture for the modak. Temper the dal for ambat varan and finish the rice. Shape the modaks and serve.
