Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Ajwaini Murg Recipe

  • Chicken on Bone cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone 750 grams

  • Carom Seeds 1/2 cup

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli flakes 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup

Method

Step 1

Mix chicken pieces with carom seeds, yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli flakes and salt in a bowl and set aside to marinate for thirty minutes.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add chicken pieces and sear on high heat for eight to ten minutes. Add cream and coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for five to six minutes.

Step 3

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
