Ingredients list for Aloo Mayonnaise Tikki

  • 2 large Potatoes boiled, peeled and grated
  • 3 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Salted peanuts roasted and coarsely ground
  • Cornflour 2 tablespoons + for dusting
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • For garnishing
  • Thin strips of green capsicum
  • Thin strips of red capsicum
  • Thin strips of yellow capsicum
  • Chaat masala

Method

  1. Mix together potatoes, onion, green chillies, ginger, red chilli powder, salt, mayonnaise, peanuts and 2 tbsps cornflour in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Dust your palms with cornflour. Make equal sized balls of the potato mixture.
  3. Place the balls in the pan and flatten them with a spatula. Cook on one side till golden. Flip and cook on the other side till evenly done.
  4. Place thin strips of green, red and yellow capsicums on a serving plate. Transfer the tikkis on them, sprinkle some chaat masala and serve hot.
