Ingredients for Banana Cake In Pan Recipe

  • Ripe bananas 2

  • Egg 1

  • Castor sugar 3/4 cup

  • Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil 1/3 cup

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 1/4 cups

  • Salt a pinch

  • Baking powder 3 teaspoons

  • Brown sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Break egg into a bowl, add castor sugar and vanilla essence whisk well with an electric hand blender.

Step 2

Add oil and milk and continue to whisk till a homogenous mixture is formed.

Step 3

Sieve refined flour, salt and baking powder into the egg mixture and whisk well.

Step 4

Peel and slice the bananas.

Step 5

Heat brown sugar in a non-stick pan till it caramelizes and then arrange the banana slices over it.

Step 6

Add butter and cook the bananas for a few seconds. Pour the cake batter on top of the caramelized bananas. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on a medium low heat for 15-20 minutes.

Step 7

Turn the cake upside down on a plate and then slide it back into the pan. Cook the other side for 8-10 minutes.

Step 8

Remove cake from the pan and cool down to room temperature.

Step 9

Slice, arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
