Banoffee Pie A classic British pie which perhaps gets its name from the combination of banana and toffee This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Readymade short crust pastry dough, Large ripe bananas Cuisine British Course Desserts Prep Time 4-5 hour Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Banoffee Pie 250 grams Readymade short crust pastry dough 2 Large ripe bananas to sprinkle Brown sugar to sprinkle Cinnamon powder 400 grams Dulche de leche 1 cup Whipped cream to garnish Chocolate flakes Method Preheat oven to 180° C. Roll out half the dough into a large disc, gently lift it up and place it on a pie dish. Press down the bottom and the sides. Trim off the extra dough hanging from the sides and prick all over with fork. Place a baking paper over the dough disc and spread dried beans on it. Process the remaining dough similarly. Place the pie dishes in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Take them out of the oven and allow to cool. Peel and slice bananas, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon powder over them and set aside. Heat a non-stick pan, add dulche de leche and stir till it softens. Transfer the mixture over the baked pie shells spread it evenly. Arrange the banana pieces neatly on top, spread whipped cream over them making little peaks. Refrigerate till set.
