Ingredients for Berry Sangria Granita - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Strawberries chopped 1/2 cup

  • Red wine 2 cups

  • Sugar 1/4 cup

  • Orange juice 3/4 cup

  • Cranberry juice 1 cup

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Lemon 1/2

  • Edible flowers for garnish

  • Crushed ice as required

  • Dry ice as required


Step 1

Heat a deep non-stick pan, add sugar and ½ water, mix well and let the sugar dissolve completely. Add orange juice and cranberry juice, mix well and let the mixture come to a boil on high heat.

Step 2

Add strawberries, break the cinnamon stick and add to the pan. Mix well and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Add wine, mix well and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes. Switch the heat off and squeeze the juice of ½ lemon into the pan and mix well. Set the pan aside to cool.

Step 4

Strain the mixture into a casserole dish and freeze for 3-4 hours. Take it out of the freezer, scrape on all sides with a fork and freeze for 3-4 hours more.

Step 5

Fill up stemmed serving glasses with the granite and garnish with edible flowers.

Step 6

Place crushed ice and dry ice on a serving plate, scatter colourful flowers all over, place the glasses and pour hot water on the ice mixture. Serve immediately.
