Ingredients list for Berry Sangria Granita - SK Khazana

  • 1/2 cup Strawberries chopped
  • 2 cups Red wine
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Orange juice
  • 1 cup Cranberry juice
  • 1 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Lemon

Method

  1. Heat a deep non-stick pan, add sugar and ½ water, mix well and let the sugar dissolve completely. Add orange juice and cranberry juice, mix well and let the mixture come to a boil on high heat.
  2. Add strawberries, break the cinnamon stick and add to the pan. Mix well and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add wine, mix well and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes. Switch the heat off and squeeze the juice of ½ lemon into the pan and mix well. Set the pan aside to cool.
  4. Strain the mixture into a casserole dish and freeze for 3-4 hours. Take it out of the freezer, scrape on all sides with a fork and freeze for 3-4 hours more.
  5. Fill up stemmed serving glasses with the granite and garnish with edible flowers.
  6. Place crushed ice and dry ice on a serving plate, scatter colourful flowers all over, place the glasses and pour hot water on the ice mixture. Serve immediately.
