Ingredients for Besan Omelette Recipe

  • Gram flour (besan) 1 1/2 cups

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1-2

  • Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Medium tomato finely chopped 1

  • Onion finely chopped 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil for cooking

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Whisk together gram flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, green chillies, cumin powder, tomato, onion and salt with sufficient water to make a batter. Add carom seeds and whisk well.

Step 2

Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Pour a ladleful of batter on it, spread into a disc and cook, turning sides, till well browned on both sides. Make more omelettes similarly.

Step 3

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
