Bloody Mary

A delicious tomato juice based mocktail – do serve this at your next party.This beverage provides a great antioxidant hit as tomatoes are arecfull of lypocene. Lemon juice adds a dose of vitamin C and tabasco for spicy punch. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Bloody Mary

  • 3 cups Tomato juice
  • 1 teaspoon Celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 60 millilitres Vodka
  • to taste Salt
  • as required Ice cubes
  • for garnishing Lemon wedges
  • 2 Stick Celery
  • 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce

Method

  1. Combine tomato juice, celery salt, crushed peppercorns, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, vodka and salt in a jug.
  2. Place some ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and pour the combine drink into it. Cover.
  3. Spread some salt onto a plate. Rub the rim of individual glasses with lemon wedges and dip in the salt so that the salt sticks to the rims. Set aside.
  4. Trim ends of celery sticks and cut into halves lengthwise.
  5. Shake the cocktail shaker well and pour the drink into the prepared glasses. Add ½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce into each glass.
  6. Place celery stick in the glass and garnish with lemon wedges on the rim. Serve chilled.
