Ingredients list for Bread and Butter Pudding -SK Khazana

  • 6 white bread slices
  • Butter for applying
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup castor sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • A pinch of nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon green cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons raisins

Method

  1. Preheat the oven at 180° C.
  2. Apply butter on one side of each bread slice and cut each into 4 pieces.
  3. Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan, add castor sugar and stir till it dissolves. Take the pan off the heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Arrange the bread pieces, overlapping each other with buttered side up, in a baking dish.
  5. Break eggs and add to the cooled milk in the pan, add vanilla essence and whisk till well combined. Add nutmeg powder and green cardamom powder and whisk well. Strain this mixture directly on the bread pieces. Sprinkle raisins all over.
  6. Keep the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Take the baking dish out of the oven and allow to cool slightly.
  7. Serve warm or cold.
