By Sanjeev Kapoor 08 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Butter, Gram flour (besan) Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Butter Sev 1/4 cup Butter 1.1/2-2 cups Gram flour (besan) + for greasing Oil for deep-frying to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Cumin powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder Method Grease a chakli press attached with sev stencil with some oil. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Put gram flour, salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder in a bowl and mix. Melt butter in a microwave, add to flour mixture. Add some water and knead into a stiff dough. Grease your palms with some oil and put a portion of the dough into the greased chakli press. Press sev directly into the hot oil and deep-fry on low heat till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Cool. Serve or store in an airtight container.
