By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Apr 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Rice, Milk Cuisine Indian Course Desserts Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Chawal Ki Kheer - SK Khazana 3/4 cups Rice washed, soaked and drained 2 litres Milk 8-10 cahew nuts 8-10 almonds 3 green cardamoms 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons muskmelon seeds 2 tablespoons raisins A few saffron strands soaked in 1 tsp water Method Roughly chop cashewnuts and almonds. Open green cardamom pods. Pour milk into a deep pan and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and keep cooking till it is reduced to half. Add rice, mix well and cook on medium heat, stirring continuously, for 15-20 minutes or till the rice is almost cooked. Add sugar and mix till sugar dissolves and further cook for 1-2 minutes. Add green cardamoms, chopped nuts, melon seeds and raisins and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add saffron water, mix and reduce the heat to low and cook till mixture thickens.
