By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Gruyere cheese, Egg whites Cuisine French Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Cheese Souffle 4 teaspoons Gruyere cheese base 4 Egg whites for greasing Butter a pinch Salt as required Cheese sauce as required Chives thin strips to sprinkle Crushed black peppercorns Method Grease individual glass bowls with some butter and refrigerate. Heat some water in a non-stick deep-pan. Place a steamer and cover. Take egg whites in a bowl. Add salt and whisk well with an electric beater till soft and fluffy. Add Gruyere cheese base and fold in well. Pour this mixture into the glass bowls. Place them in the steamer, cover and steam on low heat for 5-8 minutes. Remove from steam and demould. Place in individual serving bowls and pour some cheese sauce over. Garnish with chive strips and sprinkle some crushed peppercorns on top.
