Ingredients list for Chocolate Orange Loaf

  • 150 grams Dark chocolate melted
  • ½ cup Orange juice
  • 1¼ cups Refined flour (maida)
  • 2 teaspoons Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 60 grams Butter
  • 1 cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 2 Eggs
  • ? cup Milk
  • 3 teaspoons Orange rind

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
  2. Add granulated sugar to orange juice and mix till it melts. Set aside.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl.
  4. Cream together butter and castor sugar with a hand blender till light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs and milk and beat well till smooth. Add flour mixture and fold well. Add chocolate and mix well. Add orange rind and mix well.
  6. Pour the mixture into a silicon mould, place it in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside till just warm.
  7. Demould, pour the sweetened orange juice and let the loaf absorb the juice. Slice and serve.
