Chocolate Pistachio and Nougat Semifreddo A classic Italian semi-frozen dessert mixed with pistachios and nougat. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 11 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Dark chocolate, Nougat Cuisine Italian Course Desserts Prep Time 3.30-4 hour Cook time 0-5 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Chocolate Pistachio and Nougat Semifreddo 2 cups Dark chocolate melted 60 grams Nougat crushed 15-20 Pistachios roughly chopped for greasing Butter ¾ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar) 4 Eggs 2¼ cups Double cream Method Grease a loaf tin with some butter and line with a cling film. On a double boiler, whisk together the sugar and eggs till pale, thick and double in volume. Remove the bowl, immerse the bottom of the bowl in chilled water and continue whisking till the mixture is cool. Add the chocolate and mix well. Whip the cream until soft peaks are formed, add to the chocolate mixture and fold well. Add the nougat and pistachios and mix well. Pour the mixture in the prepared tin, smoothen the surface, cover and freeze till firm. Slice and serve.
