This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Black eyed beans, Brown Rice Cuisine American Course Rice Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Chowli and Brown Rice Stew 1 cup Black eyed beans soaked and boiled 2 tablespoons Brown Rice soaked 1 tablespoon Olive oil 1 Bay leaf 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped 2 medium Onions chopped 1 medium Carrot peeled 1 medium Potato peeled to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns 1 bottle Arrabiata sauce Method Heat olive oil in a deep non stick pan, add bay leaf, garlic and onions and saute for 2 minutes. Cut carrot into large chunks and add to the pan. Cut potato into ¾ inch cubes and add. Add black eyed beans, brown rice, 3 cups water, salt, crushed black peppercorns and mix well. Cover and cook till rice and vegetables get completely cooked. Add arrabiata sauce and mix well and cook for 2 minutes more. Add a little freshly crushed peppercorns and mix well.
