Ingredients for Cinnamon Rolls-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) sifted 2 cups

  • Activated yeast 1 tablespoon

  • Castor sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Melted butter 2 tablespo for greasing

  • Sour cream 1 tablespoon

  • Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Egg 1

  • Pistachio powder to sprinkle

  • Walnuts chopped For topping

  • Raisins For topping

  • Milk for brushi

  • Filling

  • Cinnamon (dalchini) powder 1 teaspoon

  • Brown sugar 1 cup

  • Nutmeg (jaiphal) powder 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Mix together flour, yeast, castor sugar, butter, sour cream, vanilla essence, salt and egg in a bowl. Knead into a soft dough and set aside to prove.

Step 2

Grease a glass baking dish with some butter.

Step 3

To make the filling, mix together brown sugar, nutmeg powder and cinnamon powder in another bowl.

Step 4

Knock back the dough, divide into equal portions and roll out into sheets. Brush some melted butter on top.

Step 5

Sprinkle a portion of filling and some pistachio powder, top with some walnuts and some raisins. Roll into cylinders and cut into thick slices.

Step 6

Arrange the slices in the greased dish, cover with a damp muslin cloth and set in a warm place for 1½ hours.

Step 7

Preheat the oven at 180˚C.

Step 8

Brush the rolls with some milk, put the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or till golden brown.

Step 9

Serve warm.
