Ingredients for Cornflakes French Toast-Cook Smart Recipe

  • Cornflakes 2 cups

  • Brown bread slices 4

  • Eggs 8

  • Sugar 4 tablespoons

  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Ripe bananas 8

  • Butter 3 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Separate egg whites from the yolks and put them in two separate bowls. Add 3 tablespoons sugar to the egg whites and beat well.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan.

Step 3

Peel and cut bananas into roundels.

Step 4

Heat butter in another non-stick pan. Add banana roundels and remaining sugar and cook till the bananas caramelize.

Step 5

Crush cornflakes and spread on a plate.

Step 6

Dip brown bread slices, one by one, in the beaten egg whites and coat with the cornflakes. Place in the oil and shallow-fry, turning sides, till evenly golden and crisp on both sides.

Step 7

Cut French toasts into triangles and serve immediately with the caramelized bananas.
