Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Curried Chicken Pita Sandwich Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into thick strips 400 grams

  • Curry powder 1 tablespoon

  • Pita breads 2

  • Oil 2 tablespoon

  • Medium onion chopped 1 medium

  • Garlic cloves chopped 10-12

  • Chicken stock 1/2 cup

  • Chilli sauce 3 teaspoons

  • Fresh thyme sprigs 2

  • Salt to taste

  • Spring onion bulbs 5-6

  • Yogurt 4 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan and heat pita breads in it.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan, add onion and garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add chicken and curry powder and mix. Add chicken stock, mix and cook and 2 minutes.

Step 3

Add chilli sauce and thyme and mix. Add salt and mix. Reduce heat and cook till chicken is done.

Step 4

Halve pita breads and open out the pockets. Roughly slice spring onion bulbs.

Step 5

Stuff chicken equally into pita pockets. Drizzle 1 tbsp yogurt, a few drops of chilli sauce and sprinkle a few spring onion slices over the chicken in each pocket and serve immediately.
