By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 May 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Bottle Gourd, Milk Cuisine Indian Course Desserts Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Doodhi Halwa 500 grams Bottle Gourd 3 cups Milk 3-4 tablespoons Pure ghee 1/4 cup Sugar 10 Cashewnuts chopped 10 Pistachios chopped 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder tablespoons Vermicelli coloured Method Peel gourd, scrape out the seeds. Grate it finely. Heat milk and reduce to around two cups. Heat ghee in a pan, add the grated gourd and sauté for five to seven minutes. Add reduced milk and cook, stirring continuously, till all the liquid content has evaporated. Add sugar, cashewnuts and pistachios and green cardamom powder. Cook till the sugar dissolves and the mixture is semi dry. Serve hot or cold garnished with coloured vermicelli.
