Ingredients for Eggless Date and Walnut Cake Recipe

  • Dates Seeded seeded, chopped and soaked in water with ½ teaspoo 1 1/2 cups

  • Walnuts chopped 1 cup

  • Butter 120 gms + to grease

  • Refined flour (maida) 300 grams

  • Condensed milk 400 grams

  • Milk 150 millilitres

  • Castor sugar 1/2 cup

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 2 teaspoons


Step 1

Preheat oven at 180°C. Grease an aluminium baking tin with butter and dust with flour.

Step 2

Combine the condensed milk, milk, butter and castor sugar in a bowl. Beat well with an electric beater.

Step 3

Add dates, walnuts and vanilla essence and beat again till well blended.

Step 4

Sift together flour and baking powder into the bowl. Fold the mixture in till well blended.

Step 5

Pour batter into the prepared tin and tap to level the batter. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for forty minutes.

Step 6

Remove from oven and cool down to room temperature. Remove from tin, cut into wedges and serve.
