By Sanjeev Kapoor 27 Sep 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Dried figs , California walnuts Cuisine fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for FIG AND WALNUT SLICE ½ cup Dried figs chopped ½ cup California walnuts 2 cups + for coating Refined flour (maida) rotis 2 tbsps Honey ½ tsp Cinnamon powder 1 cup Butter 3 tbsps Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1 tsp Vanilla essence Method Line a barfi tray with a parchment paper. Blend dried figs, California walnuts, honey and cinnamon powder in a food processor to make a thick and smooth paste. Transfer in a bowl. Preheat oven to 170° C. Mix together butter and castor sugar in another bowl. Add vanilla essence and mix well. Cream the mixture using an electric beater till light. Add 2 cups flour and mix till well combined into a dough. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and spread one portion on the lined tray. Place a thin layer of prepared paste on top of the tray, cover with remaining dough portion and level it out. Coat fork with some flour and press it lightly over the prepared tray to create a pattern. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven, cool and demould.
