Ingredients list for Fish Sticks

  • 250 grams Fish fillets boneless, white, cut into fingers
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • ½ cup Idli rawa
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 Egg
  • Tartar sauce
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon Pickled jalapenos chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Capers chopped
  • 1 teaspoon gherkin chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Pickled onions chopped
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
  2. Take fish in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice and salt and mix well.
  3. Spread idli rawa on a plate. Add chilli powder and salt and mix well.
  4. Break an egg into another bowl and whisk well.
  5. Dip each marinated fish fingers in egg, coat with idli rawa mixture and place on another plate.
  6. Deep-fry these fish fingers in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. To prepare tartar sauce, put mayonnaise, crushed peppercorns, jalapenos, capers, gherkins, pickled onion and salt in another bowl and mix well.
  8. Serve the fish sticks hot with tartar sauce.
