By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients King fish (surmai), Fresh coriander leaves Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Fried Fish 1 medium King fish (surmai) cleaned and cut into darnes 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped 5-6 Garlic cloves 2 Green chillies 1 tablespoon Scraped coconut 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Tamarind pulp 1 tablespoon Cornflour/ corn starch 1/2 cup Semolina (rawa/suji) for shallow frying Oil Method Put coriander leaves, garlic, green chillies, coconut and little water in a grinder jar and grind to a smooth paste. Put the fish darnes in a bowl. Add ground paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and tamarind pulp and mix well. Add cornflour and mix again. Spread semolina on a plate. Coat the fish darnes with it from both sides. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Place the fish darnes and cook till golden from both sides. Drain on absorbent paper. Arrange the fish on a serving plate and serve hot.
