Add asafoetida, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and coriander seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add green chillies and coriander stems and mix. Add horse gram, crushed peppercorns and salt, mix well. Add some water, cover and cook for 6-8 minutes. Switch off heat, blend the gram mixture with a hand blender and strain.
