Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Grilled Fruits Recipe

  • Gooseberries 6-7

  • Kiwi fruit peeled 2

  • Ripe banana 1

  • Strawberries 6-7

  • Pineapple peeled 1 small

  • Sugar 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh mint leaves 20-25

  • Lemon 1

Method

Step 1

Cook ¼ cup sugar with ¼ cup water to make a syrup. Halve the gooseberries without cutting through. Quarter kiwis and remove the centre core.

Step 2

Peel banana, halve horizontally and further halve each piece lengthways. Halve strawberries. Cut pineapple into 1 inch fingers. Put all the fruits into a bowl. Add sugar and mix. Heat a non-stick grill pan and spread the fruits on it and grill.

Step 3

Chop fresh mint leaves and add to the sugar syrup and mix. Squeeze juice of lemon, add and mix well. When the fruits are slightly burnt transfer them onto a plate. Drizzle the syrup over and serve.
