Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for HALDI AUR PYAZ KA RAITA - skk Recipe

  • Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Medium onion 1

  • Yogurt 1 1/2 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Ghee 1/2 tablespoon

  • Garlic cloves sliced 4-5

  • Cumin seeds

  • Roasted cumin powder to garnish

  • Fresh coriander sprigs to garnish

Method

Step 1

Take yogurt in a bowl. Chop onion and add it to the yogurt. Add salt and red chilli powder and mix well.

Step 2

For the tempering, heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add garlic and cumin seeds, saute till light golden brown.

Step 3

Add Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder, mix well and saute for ½ minute. Add the tempering to the yogurt mixture and mix well.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl, sprinkle roasted cumin powder, garnish with coriander sprig and serve.
