By Sanjeev Kapoor 17 Dec 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta), Jaggery Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Mithais Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Kapnya 1 cup Whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) 1/4 cup Jaggery , chopped 1/4 cup Gram flour (besan) a pinch Salt 1/2 tablespoon Fennel sees (saunf) 1/2 tbsp + to deep fry Hot oil to sprinkle Poppy seeds Method Heat ¼ cup water in a deep non-stick pan, add jaggery and cook till it melts. Take whole wheat flour in a bowl, add gram flour, salt, fennel seeds and hot oil and mix well. Add the jaggery mixture and knead into stiff dough. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Roll out the dough into a thin disk and sprinkle poppy seeds on top. Press lightly. Cut into diamonds, slide them into hot oil and deep fry, on medium heat, till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
