Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet corn kernels (makai)
  • 3 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
  • 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh mint leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon hot oil 
  • Oil for deep-frying 
  • Fried green chilli for garnishing

Method

  1. Mix together sweet corn kernels, 2 tablespoons gram flour, green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, sugar and lemon juice with little water in a bowl. Add the remaining gram flour and mix once again. Add 1 tablespoon hot oil and mix. 
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop small portions of the prepared mixture and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 
  3. Serve hot garnished with fried green chilli.
