Ingredients list for Masala Chaas

  • 2 cups Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup Mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • to taste Black salt (kala namak)

Method

  1. Heat a non-stick pan. Dry roast cumin seeds till fragrant.
  2. Transfer the roasted cumin seeds into a mortar and crush them with pastel.
  3. Grind together mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilli, roughly chopped ginger and 2-3 tablespoons yogurt into a fine paste.
  4. Add remaining yogurt and black salt and grind again. Add roasted cumin powder and blend well.
  5. Serve chilled garnished with roasted cumin powder.
