By Sanjeev Kapoor 25 Mar 2021 in Recipes Cuisine New Update Masoor Dal Soup Main Ingredients Whole masoor, Pumkin Cuisine Indian Course Soups Prep Time 20-25 minutes Cook time 20-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 1 cup whole red lentil ½ tablespoon oil 1 medium onion, chopped ¾ cup chopped pumpkin 1 medium carrot, chopped 1 medium tomato, chopped ½ tablespoon finely chopped garlic 4-5 coriander roots, washed Salt to taste 1½ tablespoons butter Burnt garlic for garnish Chives for garnish Method Add Tata Sampann Masoor Whole in a bowl and add sufficient water. Soak for 20-25 minutes. Heat oil in a non-stick pressure cooker, add onion, pumpkin, carrot, tomato, and garlic. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Break coriander roots and add to the cooker. Add soaked dal and mix well. Add salt, and mix well. Add 3 cups water and mix well. Place the lid on and cook till 4-5 whistles are released. Allow the pressure to settle completely. Blend the mixture using an electric hand blender till smooth. Add butter and mix well. Strain the soup into another pan, adjust seasoning and transfer to a serving bowl.
