Ingredients list for Meen Varuval

  • 2 Fish Fillets cut into strips
  • to taste Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Curry powder
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Place fish strips in a bowl, add salt, garlic paste, curry powder and lemon juice and mix.
  2. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix refined flour with white pepper powder and salt on a flat plate.
  4. Dredge small lots of marinated fish strips in the seasoned flour, shake off the excess flour.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, gently slide in fish strips and deep fry till golden brown.
  6. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
