By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Apr 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basmati rice, Milk Cuisine Punjabi Course Desserts Prep Time 31-40 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Phirni - SK Khazana 1/3 cup Basmati rice 5 cups Milk A few strands of saffron 1/3 cup Sugar A pinch of salt 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 1 teaspoon Kewra water Method Spread the soaked rice on a muslin cloth and let it air dry for 30-45 minutes. Take dried rice into a blender jar and grind to a coarse powder and transfer to a bowl. Add 1 cup of milk in the ground rice and mix. Heat remaining milk in a non-stick deep pan and let it come to a boil. Add saffron and stir well, let the mixture reduce for 5-7 minutes on low heat. Continue to stir. Add the rice-milk mixture and mix well. Cook on low heat till the rice is completely cooked, stirring constantly. Add sugar, salt and green cardamom powder. Mix and cook for 3-4 minutes or till the sugar dissolves. Switch the heat off and add kewra water, mix well. Transfer into individual earthenware, allow to cool and refrigerate till set.
