Ingredients for Pumpkin South Indian Style Recipe

  • Pumpkin 1 inch cubes 500 grams

  • Oil 4 tablespoons

  • Onions sliced 3 medium

  • Garlic crushed 3-4 cloves

  • Fresh red chillies chopped 3

  • Black peppercorns crushed 7-8

  • Salt to taste

  • Cinnamon powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Desiccated coconut 1/4 cup

  • Tomatoes chopped 3 medium

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onions and sauté on high heat. Add pumpkin pieces and sauté for a few minutes. Add crushed garlic and sauté. Add fresh red chillies, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix. Add cinnamon powder, desiccated coconut, chopped tomatoes and half a cup of water. Cover and cook for twenty to twenty five minutes or till done. Serve hot.
