This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 19 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Purple Yam, Punjabi Wadis Cuisine Punjabi Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Purple Yam Wadiyaan 250 grams Purple Yam peeled and cut into small cubes 3 Punjabi Wadis deep fried and soaked in water 2 tablespoons Oil 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida 3-4 Green chillies cut lengthwise 1 inch Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon Cumin powder to taste Salt Juice of ½ lemon 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and asafoetida and sauté till fragrant. Add green chillies and ginger and sauté for a minute. Add purple yam and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, salt and mix well and sauté for a minute. Break the wadis and add to the pan. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
