Heat 1 cup water in the bottom container of puttu steamer. Brush the cylindrical mould with oil, fill it with the rice flour mixture. Spread it evenly. Cover its lid. Place in the steamer and steam for 12-15 minutes. Remove the puttu mould, push the puttu through the cylinder with a wooden stick onto a serving plate and serve hot.
