Raw Papaya Chutney This raw papaya sweet chutney cooked with an array of masala is simply delicious. This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 28 Jul 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Raw Papaya, Raisins Cuisine Indian Course Pickles, Jams and Chutneys Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Raw Papaya Chutney 2 cups Raw Papaya peeled and grated 1/2 teaspoon Raisins 1 1/2 tablespoons Oil a pinch Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped 2 Green chillies finely chopped 3 tablespoons Raisins 1 1/2 cups Sugar 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Black salt Saffron a few strands to taste Salt Juice of ½ lemon Method Heat 2 cups water in a non-stick pan, add raw papaya and cook for 3-4 minutes or till papaya becomes soft. Strain papaya into a bowl and set aside. Heat oil in another non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and when they splutter add asafoetida and cumin seeds. Sauté till fragrant. Add ginger, green chillies and raisins and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add papaya and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add sugar and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add red chilli powder, black salt, saffron, salt and lemon juice and mix well. Cook for 6-8 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
