Ingredients for Rawa Toast Recipe

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 100 grams

  • Bread slices 4

  • Salt to taste

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Small onion chopped 1

  • Medium tomato chopped 1

  • Medium green capsicum chopped 1

  • Fresh red chillies chopped 2-3

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Butter 4 tablespoons

  • Processed cheese grated as required

  • White sesame seeds as required

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Take semolina in a bowl, add salt and yogurt and mix well. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Add onion, tomato, capsicum, red chillies and coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 3

Place each white bread slice on the worktop and spread a generous portion of the semolina mixture evenly on it.

Step 4

To cook each slice, heat 1 tbsp butter in a non-stick pan on medium heat, when the butter melts, place a slice in it, with the mixture side facing up. Sprinkle some cheese and some white sesame seeds on it. When the underside turns golden, flip and cook till the other side turns golden brown.

Step 5

Cut each slice into 2 triangles, keep them on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
