Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Samosa Sandwich - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Samosas 4

  • White bread slices 8

  • Butter 8 teaspoons + to toast

  • Green chutney 8 teaspoons

  • Onions sliced into roundels 2 medium

  • Tomatoes sliced into roundels 2 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Cheese slices 4

  • Tamarind chutney to drizzle

  • Nylon sev to sprinkle

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped for garnish

Method

Step 1

To make each sandwich, apply butter on bread slices followed by green chutney. Press the samosas lightly and place on 4 bread slices.

Step 2

Top with a few onion roundels and a few tomato roundels. Sprinkle salt and place a slice of cheese on top. Cover each with one of the remaining bread slices, chutney side facing downwards.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick tawa. Add some butter, place 1 sandwich and apply some more butter on top. When the underside turns golden, flip and cook till the other side too turns golden. Cook the remaining sandwiches similarly.

Step 4

Cut each sandwich into 4 equal squares and place them on separate serving plates. Drizzle tamarind chutney and green chutney. Sprinkle sev and coriander leaves and serve immediately.
