Ingredients for Sattu Pancakes Recipe

  • Sattu 1 cup

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon

  • Butter 4 tbsps + as required

  • Jaggery powder 1/2 cup

  • Whole wheat flour 1/2 cup

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt a pinch

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Butter cubes to serve

  • Maple syrup to serve


Step 1

Take yogurt in a bowl, add baking soda and mix well.

Step 2

Heat butter in a deep non-stick pan. Add jaggery powder and cook till butter melts. Take the pan off the heat and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3

Sift sattu, whole wheat flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

Step 4

Make a well in the centre, add yogurt mixture, butter-jaggery mixture, green cardamom powder, vanilla essence and milk and whisk well.

Step 5

Heat a non-stick tawa. Grease it with some butter and spread a ladleful of batter on it.

Step 6

Cover and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook on other side for 2 minutes. Make more pancakes with the remaining batter.

Step 7

Pile up the pancakes on serving plate. Place butter cubes on top and serve with maple syrup.
