Ingredients list for Sprout Khichdi
- 1/2 cup Moong sprouts
- 1/4 cup Matki sprouts
- 1/4 cup Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) soaked and drained
- 3/4 cup Basmati rice soaked
- 2-3 Cloves
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 5-6 Black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 2 medium Onion chopped
- 2 Green chillies slit
- 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
Method
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cinnamon, cloves, black peppercorns and saute for 1 minute. Add onions and saute till lightly coloured.
- Add moong and matki sprouts, moong dal. Add ginger, green chillies, turmeric powder and salt. Add rice, 4 cups water and mix. Close the cooker and cook till 2-3 whistles are given out. Let thekhichdi remain in the cooker for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve hot.
