Ingredients list for Tamarind Cooler

  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind paste
  • 4 tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger grated
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 tablespoon Roasted cumin seeds
  • as required Ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • For topping Drinking soda

Method

  1. Heat 3 cups water in a non-stick pan. Add sugar, tamarind paste and ginger, stir and boil for a minute. Remove from heat and cool down to room temperature.
  2. Slice lemon and remove seeds. Coarsely crush cumin seeds.
  3. Place lots of ice cubes into 4 individual tall glasses. Add 2-3 lemon slices and ¼ tablespoon lemon juice in each glass.
  4. Divide crushed cumin seeds and the tamarind mixture equally into each and top with drinking soda.
  5. Serve chilled.
