How to make Thai Hot and Sour Soup -

Just like the name suggests, this pungent hot and sour soup has all the flavours of Thailand. Chicken broth, kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass and Thai red chillies, with these great ingredients this soup is definably going to warm you inside and out!

Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Thai Hot and Sour Soup Recipe

  • Boneless Chicken boiled and roughly chopped 150 grams

  • Chicken Stock 4 cups

  • Spring onion bulbs 2-3

  • Lemongrass stalk 4 inch piece 1

  • Fresh red chillies 2-3

  • Button mushroom 6-7

  • Kaffir lime leaves 2

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2-3 medium

  • Fish sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Tamarind pulp 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Few fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Heat chicken stock in a deep non-stick pan.

Step 2

Slice spring onion bulbs, lemongrass, red chillies and mushrooms and add to the pan and bring it to a boil.

Step 3

Roughly tear kaffir lime leaves and add and mix well. Add tomatoes and mix well. Add fish sauce and tamarind pulp and mix well. Add salt and mix. Cook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

To serve, put some chicken in each serving bowl, pour prepared soup, garnish with coriander leaves and serve piping hot.
