How to make Tutti Fruity Cake -

Soft spongy vanilla cake studded with colourful bits of tutti fruity – this cake surely brings back some childhood memories. This recipe takes things a notch higher with the decadent addition of royal icing. A must try if you have a sweet tooth.

British cuisine has always been a multicultural - a pot pourri of eclectic styles.  However Britain's culinary expertise is not new! In the past British cooking was amongst the best in the world.  Traditional British cuisine is substantial, yet simple and wholesome.

Ingredients for Tutti Fruity Cake Recipe

  • Tutti Frutty 1/2 cup

  • Condensed Milk 2 cups

  • Butter softened 1 cup

  • Milkmaid 1 cup (400 gms)

  • Eggs 4

  • Vanilla essence 2 teaspoons

  • Milk 1/4 cup

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Royal icing

  • Icing sugar 1 cup

  • Egg white 1

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven at 180°C.

Step 2

Combine butter and Milkmaid in a bowl and whisk well.

Step 3

Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla essence and mix well. Add milk and whisk well.

Step 4

Combine refined flour, baking powder and tutti fruity in another bowl and mix well.

Step 5

Add flour mixture to butter mixture and fold in to mix well.

Step 6

Pour batter into a silicon mould filling ¾ and tap lightly. Place the mould in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes.

Step 7

To make royal icing, take icing sugar in a bowl. Add egg white gradually to it and whisk well.

Step 8

Remove cake from heat, demould and cool to room temperature.

Step 9

Place the cake on a serving dish. Spread royal icing on top and serve.
