Vanilla Cake A simple and all time favourite vanilla sponge. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 21 Apr 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Refined flour (maida), Vanilla essence Cuisine Fusion Course Desserts Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Vanilla Cake + for dusting Refined flour (maida) 2 cups 3 teaspoons Vanilla essence for greasing Unsalted butter ½ cup + 2 teaspoons Baking powder ¼ teaspoon Salt 1½ cups Castor sugar (caster sugar) 4 Eggs 1 cup Milk Method Preheat the oven to 180º C. Grease a five inch cake tin with some butter and dust with some flour. Sieve together the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and mix. Beat together the castor sugar and eggs in another bowl till it reach a ribbon consistency. Add the flour mixture and fold well. Heat the butter and milk in the microwave till the butter melts. Remove from heat and mix. Add the butter-milk mixture and vanilla essence to the flour-egg mixture and mix well to make a smooth batter. Pour the batter in the prepared tin, put the tin in the preheated oven and bake for forty to forty-five minutes. Remove from oven, cool and demould.
