Cheela Toast Besan ka cheela is quite a popular snack. Here we have added a few vegetables and spices to the batter that give it a delightful crunch and flavour. And when bread slices are dipped in this batter and shallow fried in butter, the taste is absolutely super. By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Nov 2024 in Recipes New Update Main ingredients Gram flour, White bread slices, Carom seeds, Coriander powder, Cumin powder, Fresh coriander leaves, Onion, Tomato, Green capsicum, Green chillies, Butter Cuisine Fusion Course Snack Prep time 15-20 minutes Cook time 20-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Savoury Level of cooking Easy Others Vegetarian Ingredients 2 cups gram flour 4 white bread slices ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain) Salt to taste ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ½ teaspoon red chilli powder ½ teaspoon coriander powder ½ teaspoon cumin powder 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves 1 large onion, finely chopped 1 medium tomato, chopped 1 small green capsicum, finely chopped 2 green chillies, chopped Oil for toasting Butter as required Tomato ketchup for serving Method Take gram flour in a bowl. Crush the carom seeds and add to the bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli, powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, coriander leaves, onion, tomato, green capsicum and green chillies and mix well. Add 1¼ cups water and mix well. Heat oil on a non-stick tawa. Dip the bread slices in the batter and place on tawa. Cook on low heat for 4-5 minute top and cook. Flip again and spread some more butter on top and cook turning sides for 4-5 minutes more on low heat or till the both sides are equally golden brown.
