By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Jul 2024 in Recipes Desserts New Update Chocolate Semifredo Main ingredients Dark chocolate, Eggs, Castor sugar, Vanilla essence, Milk, Whipped cream, Hazelnut chikki, Fresh strawberry, Fresh mint leaves Cuisine Italian Course Desserts Prep time 6-8 hours Cook time 5-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of cooking Easy Others Non vegetarian Ingredients 1 cup melted dark chocolate 3 eggs ⅓ cup castor sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla essence ¼ cup milk 3 cups whipped cream Crushed hazelnut chikki for garnish Strawberry wedges for garnish Fresh mint sprigs for garnish Method Separate egg yolks from egg whites and put them into 2 separate bowls. Heat sufficient water in a deep pan. Place a large bowl over the pan, add egg yolks, castor sugar and whisk continuously till the mixture turns light and pale in colour. Add vanilla essence and whisk for 1-2 minutes. Add melted dark chocolate and whisk till well combined. Whisk the egg whites with an electric beater till soft peaks form. Add this to the egg yolks-chocolate mixture and fold in gently till well combined. Add whipped cream in batches and fold in gently after each addition. Pour this mixture into a silicon loaf mould. Tap it a few times and place it in the freezer to set for 6-8 hours. De-mould the semifredo on a plate. Slice, garnish with crushed hazelnut chikki, strawberry wedges and mint sprigs.
