Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Traditionally a pound cake is a white, dense and one of the simplest cakes. Although traditionally it is plain, these days you can find this cake made in different flavors. We have added cream cheese and chocolate chips to give it a light, fluffy and chocolaty taste.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180º C.
  2. Take butter in a large bowl, add cream cheese and beat with an electric beater till light. Add castor sugar in batches and beat till the mixture turns light and fluffy.  
  3. Break the eggs, one at a time, into the bowl and beat well in between each addition. 
  4. Add vanilla essence and beat till well combined. 
  5. Sift refined flour and salt directly into the mixture. Add chocolate chips and gently fold in till well combined. 
  6. Add milk and gently fold in till a smooth batter is formed. Transfer the batter into a silicon mould. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. 
  7. Bring the cake out of the oven and let it cool completely. De-mould and cut the cake into slices, arrange on a serving plate and serve.
