Ingredients
- 1 cup sago (sabudana)
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
- ½ cup roasted and crushed peanuts
- 1 tablespoon ginger-green chilli paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Oil for deep frying
- Coconut chutney for serving
Method
- Put the sago in a grinder jar and grind coarsely.
- Transfer into a bowl, add potatoes, peanuts, ginger-green chilli paste, cumin seeds, salt, and lemon juice and mix well. Add 1 cup water and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll into balls.
- Flatten each ball and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the vadas on a serving plate and serve hot with coconut chutney.
