Oats Waffle

There are many health benefits of oats, including weight loss, decreased risk of heart disease and lowered blood sugar. Here is a recipe of waffle made with oats which is served topped with fruits and drizzled with maple syrup. It not only looks lovely but has a lot of health benefits too. It is a must try recipe!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups oats
  • 2½ cups milk
  • 4 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup fine brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted + for greasing
  • 2 ripe bananas, diagonally sliced for garnish
  • 4-5 strawberries, cut into wedges for garnish 
  • Maple syrup for drizzling
  • Toasted flax seeds for garnish

Method

  1. Take milk in bowl, add apple cider vinegar mix well and set aside.
  2. Put oats into a grinder jar and grind into a fine powder and transfer the powder into a bowl.
  3. Add baking powder, baking soda and fine brown sugar and mix well. Add milk mixture, and mix till well combined.
  4. Add vanilla essence and melted butter, mix well and set aside for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Grease the waffle machine with butter. Pour some batter evenly, close with lid and cook till done. 
  6. Remove the waffle, place on a work top and cut into triangles.
  7. For serving arrange waffle triangles on a serving plate, place the banana slices and strawberry wedges. Drizzle some maple syrup on top, sprinkle toasted flax seeds and serve.
